Tiadaghton Forest Fire Fighters Clear Brush and Debris Around Black Forest Village
On Sunday, September 17th, the Tiadaghton Forest Fire Fighters assembled at Black Forest Village to clear brush and debris from fire breaks and trails that surround the Community.
This is a local forest fire fighting organization made up of volunteers who reside within Lycoming County. The organization is sponsored by DCNR District 12.
As a part of the maintenance for the Firewise program this group assembled with chain saws, axes, and ATVs to assert their brush clearing skills toward fire prevention in our

community. They were joined by members of the Black Forest Fire Company.
Prior to starting the work efforts, an instructional session and a video was presented by DCNR on the safe use of chain saws during forest fire situations.

Particular attention was focused on the new fire break that was cut around the southwest portion of the Village. An ATV trail was cut from the fire break through to the gas well site for use during any future fire fighting efforts. The snowmobile trail around the eastern side of the village, which also serves as a fire break, was cleared of deadfalls and brush.
